The Media Investment Specialist is an experienced negotiator with 2–3 years of media buying experience. This role is responsible for negotiating, purchasing, and managing local, regional, and national video and audio media across a variety of clients, including linear TV, cable, CTV/OTT, terrestrial radio, streaming audio, and podcasts.

 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a fast-paced agency environment, with a strong understanding of both traditional and evolving media platforms.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, purchase, and manage television, cable, radio, and digital video/audio inventory, including OTT/CTV, streaming audio, podcasts.
  • Develop and execute efficient media schedules that align with campaign objectives and maximize value for clients.
  • Research opportunities, evaluate inventory quality, and provide strategic rationale for media recommendations and proposals.
  • Apply knowledge of media terminology, ratings, marketplace trends, buying principles, and media math.
  • Utilize industry tools and platforms, including Nielsen and Mediaocean.
  • Manage campaign orders, revisions, makegoods, invoice reconciliation, and buying documentation.
  • Monitor campaign delivery, resolve discrepancies with vendors and accounting teams, and maintain accurate tracking/reporting.
  • Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and deadline adherence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, account, and analytics teams to support campaign execution and optimization.
  • Stay informed on evolving media trends, platforms, and consumer behaviors.
  • Follow agency policies and procedures, including timesheet compliance and participation in peer review feedback.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in media buying, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Experience with local/regional television, cable, and radio buying.
  • Familiarity with CTV/OTT, streaming audio, and podcast advertising.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry tools such as Nielsen and Mediaocean.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
  • Desire to thrive in an evolving media landscape and contribute to a positive team culture.
